Welcome to Ramblings from Oaxaca - Coming to you from Tokyo, Japan!

Welcome to Ramblings from Oaxaca! I have used this blog to report on a couple of my past trips, and have revived it for this current trip to Japan. In honor of this trip, I've updated the theme with a background photo from the talented Trey Ratcliff, of the Stuck in Customs photography blog.

Check back here for updates during the trip, be they full posts with high-quality pictures, or just a couple sentences and a picture sent from my phone. Once the trip is over, I'll process my pictures and post some of the best, along with more detailed highlights of the trip.

As I have said before, I want to give a huge "thank you" to all of you. Thank you so much for your very generous support and ongoing prayers! Without them, I wouldn't be on my way to Japan right now. So, thank you!

If you have any questions or comments at all, feel free to post them here on the blog, and I'll respond as I'm able. I look forward to hearing from you and keeping you updated on the trip!

Global Purpose for Christ said...

I am so excited for you, Tim. Our 22 year old adopted Korean daughter is in Japan for the last year. Pray for Keely while you are there, please. She is like so many Japanese: without Christ in her life. She turned her back on Him in college and is now in a country where He is seldom seen. May you and your team show Christ to those who live in darkness; may you bring the joy of living for Him to those who have no hope. I am praying for you while you are there, that you may be a powerful witness of His wonderful love! And that you are able to witness through the language barrier to the youth around you, just by he presence of the Holy Spirit through you. I am having 23 Japanese woman and children over today for a pot luck lunch and scrap booking lesson. I will be eating great Japanese food like squid pancakes and eel sushi! I will also be trying to bring Christ into these woman's lives so they can experience the joy and peace and salvation that knowing Him brings. How can we NOT share that wonderful message?? May God bless you and keep you safe! Michele Houghton
